A new vision on Pride

SOCIAL JUSTICE | ANTI- DISCRIMINATION | (INTER)NATIONAL SOLIDARITY

22nd of July - 28th of July 2023

Queer Amsterdam is pleased to announce that it will partly take on the organization of Pride in 2023. From July 22nd until July 28th, the city will showcase queer- and transness in all its shapes and sizes, in all its colors and shades of diversity. The voices of the queer community will guide our way. Values such as social justice, anti-discrimination and national and international solidarity will be the common thread running through the program. The Amsterdam city districts will function as our homebase. From there we will march to the provinces and across the national borders - all the way to those places where our right to exist still has to be fought for. The focus is also on social domains such as healthcare and sport, to name just a few. Queer Amsterdam will loudly take a stand - for those who have to endure daily bullying and for those whose safety on the streets is not yet guaranteed. We will be there - for everyone for whom equality and full acknowledgment, either socially or politically, are not yet self-evident. We can't wait to meet you.

Queer Amsterdam has organized a gathering for the queer community in Amsterdam and beyond. Re- watch the live stream via the link below. Or read the article that Het Parool published about it (NL).

ABOUT QUEER AMSTERDAM

Queer Amsterdam consists of a number of people who have been campaigning for a more diverse pride. They have done this on behalf of an organization or under their own name. In the fall of 2022, Queer Amsterdam had a series of conversations with the Municipality of Amsterdam and Stichting Amsterdam Pride. An agreement was reached. Read more about it in press release the municipality of Amsterdam has sent out.
